DECORATIVE

What constitutes art being classified as decorative is that it is more ornamental in nature. The artistic patterns and designs you find on textiles, wallpaper, wrapping paper and things of that nature are good examples of decorative art. Hand-painted furniture would fall under this category. Arts & Crafts are typically considered decorative because the projects involve “decorating” any number of items.

In fact, face painting and body art (of which I am very familiar) would be considered decorative. I’m not quite sure if sidewalk art would be considered decorative, simply because it is temporary, but at some point, I intend to find out!
